Working with Items
Create, edit, filter, and search Resource Items - including column filters, sorting, and semantic search.
A Resource Item is a single record under a Resource - one project, one ticket, one client. Every Resource gets its own page in the Resources group of the main sidebar, where you manage all of its Items.
Creating an item
- Open the Resource from the sidebar.
- Select the create button to open the new-item dialog.
- Fill in the Title, Description, and any Fields marked required.
- Save - the item appears immediately in the table.
Required and unique fields
If a required field is empty or a unique field already holds the same value, saving fails with an error explaining which field is the problem.
Browsing the table
The item list is a full-featured data table:
-
Pagination - items load in pages; move between pages at the bottom of the table.
-
Sorting - select a column header to sort by that field; toggle ascending/descending.
-
Column filters - filter any column with a set of operators suited to its type:
Operator Matches values that... Equalsare exactly the given value NotEqualsdiffer from the given value Containsinclude the given text GreaterThan/GreaterThanOrEqualcompare above (or at) the value LessThan/LessThanOrEqualcompare below (or at) the value Inmatch any value in a list
Semantic search
The search bar above the table is meaning-based, not just keyword matching: searching server outage can surface tickets titled Infrastructure downtime incident.
- Combine plain phrases with field-specific hints, e.g.
start date 2020/01/03orpriority high. - Results are ranked by relevance rather than listed in fixed order.
- Lookup fields are not semantic-searchable - use column filters for those.
Why results look 'fuzzy'
Semantic search intentionally favors meaning over exact matches. When you need precise, exhaustive filtering, combine it with the column filters described above.
Editing an item
Open any item from the table to reach its detail page:
- Title and description are editable in place at the top.
- Each Section renders as a card containing that group's fields as inline editors.
- Changes save automatically when you leave a field - watch for the confirmation indicator so you know everything is persisted.
Automatic syncing
Updates to an item are synced automatically into the AI knowledge index, so chat agents and semantic search always reason over the latest data.
Chats tied to an item
Every item has a Chat Sessions panel listing agent conversations scoped to that record. Select New Chat to ask questions about this specific item ("summarize the history here", "draft a status update") - see Chatting with Agents.
Deleting
Items can be deleted from their detail page. Deletion is permanent and also removes the item's data from the AI index - double-check before confirming.
Automate your records
Items don't have to be created by hand. Workflows can create, update, query, and delete items automatically - see the Resource CRUD nodes.
